Pardon
me if I boast about the creativity of my offspring, but they are
each so creative that I take great pride in their individual abilities.

My
first born, Jesse
,
left a promising career in advertising to become a photographer.
He left his home in San Francisco to travel the world in pursuit
of distinctive travel photographs which now populate the walls
of museums, institutions and the homes of thousands.
My
second born, Amy, has creativity
coming out of her every pore: she writes, draws, paints, designs, sings
(her own songs), even her cooking morsels are creations. After
traveling the US, either working in construction or on an organic
fruit farm or singing in any number of coffee shops, she decided
to return to college and was accepted by the prestigious Rhode
Island School of Design with a full scholarship and given work
designing faculty web sites and assisting faculty members in their
classes.
David came next. After majoring in Economics
at Tulane University, he fell in love with film. He set off for
Los Angeles to follow his dream. He enrolled in the American Film
Institute completing two years of post graduate studies in all
areas of film creation and production supported by his skill as
a videographer, producer, writer and editor. As a free-lancer,
he completed video projects commissioned by the Los Angeles County
Museum of Art, as well as such corporate giants as Banana Republic,
Miller Brewing Company, Sprint, American Express, Intel to name
a few. But nothing required his full talents as much as creating
a video for his brother, Jesse, based on Jesse's own 'how to'
writings. David wrote the video script, photographed, edited and
produced a video, the first of which is shown on Jesse's web site,
and can be seen here. David is now
the owner and main talent of Jolly Road Productions.
Allon
is the youngest of the Kalisher clan. Though his creativity is
not in the visual arts, he is none-the-less a creative part of
the brood. With a Masters Degree in Social Work he went to work
for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, first
as a case worker, then rising through the ranks to Program Supervisor.
His major achievement was in introducing new tools and methods
for using data to evaluate staff performance and for tracking
progress towards achieving fundamental child welfare outcomes.
He has been a frequent guest at a variety of national conferences
invited to speak on the reports system he was so instrumental
in designing as well as other related topics. Allon is currently
the manager in charge of workforce development programs designed
to build the knowledge and skills of staff at all levels.
Another
world traveler, Helen Westwood, started her
travels from her home in the U.K. She is an artist, an illustrator,
as well as a graphic and web site designer. She and Jesse met
in Central America where their romance blossomed. She joined him
in San Francisco where they were married. They now live in Chapel
Hill, North Carolina.
